Venus, the planet of love, comes face to face with Neptune, the planet of dreams and illusions.

I felt it yesterday and today, but I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was, and I wondered what was in the air. Then I checked. When the planet of love and the planet of dreams meet, this is our chance to understand it.

When Venus and Neptune meet, it can be hard to see through the fog. It's as if we're viewing things through rose-coloured lenses, wanting things to be something more than it actually is; and that is where we fall short in our relationships.

In relationships, many people subconsciously prioritise being liked over being valued. They'll say, "But he likes me!", or "She compliments me all the time!" And when the relationship fails, you wonder why it didn't work out despite the fact that the chemistry was great or the two of you share so many similarities and quirks. It can be boiled down to the sad and unfortunate truth:

They liked you, but it wasn't enough for them to value you.

When the two of you fight, one fights for the relationship while the other fights the other and decides that the relationship isn't worth fighting for. Why? Because they probably never valued you in the first place.

People will say, "Why did you leave that place? The people there liked you. You made their day every morning."

It's simple: you weren't valued, and so you left.

If only we would treat our relationships the way we treat our jobs, where we just upped and left.

So the next time you think about how many people like you, just ask yourself: were you valued?

There lies your answer.
